It's themost wonderful time of the year! The Christmas season brings many reasons to celebrate and gather. With the spirit of sharing, SBPWA will be giving out Women Up Programme and Fellowship Awards to recipients on this special night.

The Association of Small and Medium Industries (ASME) will be holding a one-day ASME Business Symposium 2011 to highlight opportunities and assistance schemes available to help businesses grow in a competitive environment. SBPWA members and friends who are interested to attend are invited to register with ASME directly.

40th Annual General Meeting   (24 September 2011)

This is the 40th Annual General Meeting.   Please note:

1. The right to vote at the AGM can only be exercised by members who have paid their subscriptions before the AGM and the member is present at the meeting or has appointed a proxy (Constitution Clause 7.8.3).

2. There is no charge for attending the event. Afternoon tea/refreshments will be served.

3. We especially welcome members who have recently joined the Association so that we can pass you your SBPWA name badges.

YBPW Networking Night   (26 August 2011)

YBPW is organizing a networking night for YoungBPW members to get together as well as to welcome new members who have recently joined the Association.

Note:

Young BPW chapter was officially launched as an interest group at the Association's Membership Drive in November 1996, with the goal of encouraging young career women who are 35 years and below to network with other Young BPWmembers in the local and overseas BPW clubs. It also aims at encouraging young career women to hold leadership roles in the Association as part of their professional development and training. All members who are aged 35 and below are automatically YBPWmembers.  The current Chair of YBPW is Candice Wu.

We are the only women's association participating in this event, alongside six other prestigeous business groups and chambers of commerce.

Members of SBPWA and our two sister clubs will pay the special rate of $30 to enjoy a relaxing evening at the Gallery Bar, St. James Power Station, while having the opportunity to make new business contacts among the 150-180 people who are expected to attend.

In conjunction with the Women’s Leaders’ Network (WLN), the “Dine Around Program for WLN” will be hosted by about 10 NGOs.  Federation, FBPW(S) – SBPWA (Main Chapter), Mandarin and Third Chapters - are privileged to have the opportunity to host 40 delegates from WLN for dinner.  This is also an opportunity for our members to broaden their network and to gain more visibility through publicity collaterals, websites and banners.

APEC Digital Economy Forum for Women2009   (03 August 2009)

New SBPWA eBiz website   (01 November 2007)

The new eBiz website is one of the initiatives identified by the President of SBPWA to provide more value to our members.  Besides providing information about the association and the activities organised by the association, it now enable the members to market their product and services online in Market Place.  It will also enable the members to build networking opportunity via Forum and Member Search functions.

All the additional features above have been completed except the Member Search which requires member to update their profile to make the search useful.  With the co-operation of all SBPWA members, Member Search can be activated by early Sep 2007.  Further details on how to update member's profile will be sent to all members soon.

SBPWA Dialogue with Women Ministers   (28 May 2007)
3 Women Ministers were invited to this dialogue hosted by SBPWA.  This is to offer an interactive platform for SBPWA members to raise issues and voice their views on national or women's matters.  At the same time, the women MPs would like to meet and interact with women's groups to better understand their roles and issues.  We can gather first-hand information on any new Government directives and policies that may arise.

The conference is in collaboration with Mediacorp Radio and is to recognize and acknowledge successful women who are role models for whom others can be inspired by their vision, passion and determination.  We are confident that this event will create positive impact to our community.

First day of the conference will be held with English speaking guests and second day with Mandarin speaking guests.

Special General Meeting to discuss and confirm proposed amendment to constitution to reflect the current needs of SBPWA.  In addition, the Hot Pitch session allows our members to "sell" their business ideas.  It's a chance to network with other members to expand social business circle.

Annual BPW Candle-lighting Dinner 2007   (04 February 2007)

As part of the International Federation of Business & Professional Women (BPW International) around the world, members of all 3 SBPWA chapters under the Federation BPW Singapore come together annually to light our candles remembering our members, sharing memories in friendship and reflecting on our founding principles. The lighted candles symbolize the ambitions and endeavours of dedicated women.

This year the event is chaired by SBPWA.

Young BPW Nite - Healthy Sole Happy Soul   (18 January 2007)

Its time for some 'sole' searching, begin the new year with a therapeutic foot bath that soothes & relaxes as it tingles & invigorates all the body senses. Marvelous after a hard day of work or sport, foot bath relaxes aching muscles and is excellent for tired feet.

A meeting with women from other countries to discuss women related issues.

The main theme is Towards a Dynamic Community: Enhancing the Competitiveness of Women's Business for Sustainable Development and Prosperity.

Sub-themes includes "Women entrepreneurs vs. dynamic and effective economic development; Women entrepreneurs and sustainable development; WLN-where do we go from here".
