Schedule Description :
SBPWA is organizing an annual fund raising event on 27 June 2010 – The Designer Bazaar - to raise funds for two SBPWA supported charity activities: The Fellowship Award and the Women Up Programme. About The Fellowship Award The Fellowship Award is a financial award given to promising female polytechnic or ITE students in Singapore every year. Since its inception, dozens of young women have benefitted from this programme. Female students in need of financial assistance are identified by their institutions, and students use this award to pay for their school fees and project work, allowing them to continue their tertiary education. About The Women Up Programme A community-based computer literacy project, the Women Up Programme was launched in Cheng San Community Centre in 2009 with the objective of providing a low-cost introduction to Information Technology (IT) to women who otherwise would not have the opportunity to receive training on using computers. These women are mostly from the older age, lower income, and Chinese educated group. The long-term aim of this programme is to help these women enrich their lives through the usage of computers.
